Notes
General:

1901 - age 35, living at 150 Gloucester Road, Bristol, England

Florence (Flora) Driver, my great grandmother, was born to Abraham Driver and Ann on 16th February 1866 at Axmouth, Devon. Her birth was registered at Colyton, Axminster, Devon. According to the 1881 census, when she was 15, she was a dressmaker. It is not known how she met her husband Sidney - in 1881 he was a boarder at a bakers in Holdenhurst, Hampshire - but certainly they did meet and got married at St Agnes Church in Bristol in 1887. Altogether they had four children. Two boys and two girls. (Harold, Hubert, Gertrude and Daisy) In 1888 the family were living in Torquay, in 1892 in Fulbourne Cambs. and by 1896 they had settled in Bristol. Flora ran a confectioners and tearooms with her husband at 150 Gloucester Rd. ( Pigsty Hill). After he died in 1911 she continued with the business, probably with the help of her two sons Harold and Hubert who were then aged 23 and 19. By 1921 she had moved to Bedminster where she had a bakers shop at 259 North Street and in 1930 she lived at 29, Fremantle Rd. Cotham. She would have been 64 by then so presumably she had retired. Florence died on 23rd February 1935. She is buried with her husband and daughter Daisy at Greenbank Cemetery.
