Harold Edgar George was born to Sidney Russel Shipley and Florence on 9th Septe mber 1888 in Torquay. The family moved to Cambridgeshire for a time but by 189 6 they were living at 150 Gloucester Rd. Bristol where his parents ran a bakers /confectioners. Harold also became a baker. His father died in 1911 and in 1914, aged 25 and still resident at the same add ress, he married Dora Tutcher of Egerton Rd. Bishopston at Ebenezer Chapel , a Wesleyan Methodist church. They had three children - Harold Jack, Fred a - who died an infant - and Norman Rex. Harold Edgar George died in 1959 - he was then living at 9, Uphill Rd. Ashle y Down, Bristol. His wife Dora lived until 1991.
