General:

Eliza appears to be the daughter of Samuel BLACKMORE and Mary {unknown}. However, in the 1861 UK census she appears as the daughter of John BLACKMORE and Mary Ann DRIVER. Her father Samuel died in 1842 and it's probable her mother died in 1853. If Samuel and John were brothers it would make sense that Eliza went to live with her uncle and aunt after her mother died. This theory is possibly reinforced by my suspicion that Walter BLACKMORE is actually Eliza's son and not John and Mary Ann's. Until further evidence emerges I have linked Eliza to Samuel Blackmore and Mary Ann Westlake as the weight of evidence points to her being the daughter of Samuel rather than John.
