General:

Marion was born to George Deacon Shipley and Emma. Information from John Shipley states Marion's D.O.B. = 18th December 1864 and that she died aged 12. Letter from Rev. Preb. Cecil Gange Shipley says she died aged 17. Marion's date of birth and her brother Sidney's christening appear to be the same, and therefore unlikely! More likely KS is correct with a dob of 1861, rather than the John Shipley date of 18/12/1864. My guess is both children were christened together on that date.

Marion is buried in the old charchyard at Swanage - KS visited her grave in 2005.
