Howard & Powell also owned Millman, Hunt and Co. Ltd which at the end of the 19th century was a very large woollen cloth manufacturer operating at Nind Mills at Kingswood near Wotton-under-Edge. Millman, Hunt and Co stopped making cloth at the
beginning of the 20th century and for some years they operated as a shoddy mill until 1919 when the business was acquired by Howard & Powell. Millman, Hunt and Co., which came to be based at Wallbridge, handled mainly the worsted side of the business. Howard & Powell also had a half share in a company called Eccles & Watson who were based in Huddersfield. They did much of the weaving and the processing of the worsted cloth for Millman, Hunt and Co who did not have their own manufacturing facilities.
