Notes
General:
James, my great great grandfather, was born to Charles Millman and Eleanor in Winterbourne, Glos, on 16th March, 1841. The 1851 census shows him living with his family at Stapleton Rd, then aged 9. He married Mary Sophia (sometimes shown as Short in IGI records) Wilkins on 26th December 1865 at St. Andrews Parish Church, Montpelier, Bristol. At that time he was a traveller/salesman living at Stokes Croft, Bristol. Together they had eight children. According to his son George Jame's birth certificate in 1869 James was a clothiers assistant and the family were living in Charlton upon Medlock, Lancaster . In 1870 and 1880 the family were living at 10, Gladstone St. In 1881 they were living at 92, Grosvenor Rd. St. Pauls. In 1891 they were living at 59, Claremont St. in the Parish of St. Philip and J acob (all Bristol addresses after Lancaster)..
