General:
Llewellyn was born in 1825 at Kingswood, Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire, England, Glos. An I.G.I. record shows that he was christened at the Independent Church there on 4th December 1825. The 1851 census shows Llewellyn, aged 25, living at Kingswood, Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire, England with Ellenor Rosina. At that time he was an overseer/ cloth worker. Llewellyn was a legatee of his Uncle John, being mentioned in his will in 1857. The 1881 census shows that he was a widower, then aged 65, living at Kingswood, Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire, England . He was then a cloth manufacturer employing 55 people. Five of his children w ere living with him - all were employed in the trade. Llewllyn's grave is in the churchyard at Kingswood, Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire, England Congregational Church. He died in 1885 aged 59. His wife Ellen is there with him. She had died in 1877. Their eldest daughter Julia is also there - sadly she pre-deceased them both having died, aged 23, i n 1875
